Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 299 of the Quad Cities serves the needs of Veterans in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois. Our goal is to promote and support the full range of issues important to veterans in the Quad City area and to create a new identity for this generation of veterans, and to change public perception of Vietnam veterans.

Hello, I saw the Article about your chapter in the VVA Veteran. I lived in Davenport until mid-1963 and later in Moline in 1965-6. I enlisted in the Army in November 1966 and went to Vietnam in 1970.
You have a very nice website, and I will be forwarding the URL to our local Chapter.
Just curious, is there anyone in your chapter who remembers me from Sudlow Jr. High or Davenport Central, my name is Robert Thornton.

Moving Wall to be in Platteville, WI. from July 9th through the 13th. The Wall will be at the UW Platteville and there will be an all veterans parade on July 12 th. Please contact me for the paper work that is required if you wish to have a float in the parade. This is due by the 22nd of June.

Larry, want to renew my membership after all this time!! I live up in Woodstock IL. Glad to see that there are still us old timers involved in 299. Also, would I be listed on the monument @ Jumer’s? I enlisted & returned to IL when I was in? I would like to be involved in this but I don’t know how much I could do since I’m not in the area. Let me know Larry & tell everyone I said Hi!!!!

The scouts and leaders thank you so very much for the check of $215.00 USD for the recharter of Troop 113, Silvis. The comming year marks 100 years of Scouting .. A big cerimony is being planned, as well as in England at the Estate of Lord Baden Powell. The founder of Scouting. If thr troop can help with the “HOG ROASTS” the comming year, please contact me and I will see what is on their agenda. If you know ahead of time your schedule for the next year, please let me know.
